National retail group (name withheld pending approval)
A national retailer moved a large learnership group through one managed programme
A retail group needed a large learnership group to complete within one financial year without adding supervision load to store managers. EduPower hosted, trained and placed the cohort.
The challenge
Skills development spend was committed but unevenly delivered across regions, and the previous learnership group had lost learners in the second half of the programme.
Store managers had no capacity to host learners, and the evidence file from the prior year had gaps that cost the group recognition at verification.
What we did
EduPower recruited in the communities around the stores, hosted the classroom component at our own facilities and ran the workplace component with our absorption partners where stores could not host.
A single evidence file was maintained from week one, with monthly progress reporting to the group's B-BBEE manager and a close-out pack handed over before the verification window opened.
The group ran the following year's programme on the same model and increased the learner count without adding internal headcount.
